 After 22 years in mass media, Guam's most popular female talk show host joins the Guam Variety as Managing Editor.
Next month, Rlene Santos Steffy will be overseeing six reporting staff members and a growing network of freelance writers and photographers. "We
are more than pleased to have Mrs. Steffy join us. Her extensive mass media background and strong community presence more than qualifies her for the
position," said Operations Manager Laila C. Younis. "Her strong work ethics and high standards will assure efficient leadership for the editorial team,"
she continued.
Established last year, the Guam Variety is the community's newest local and regional news source. Employing 19 local staff members, the company aims to publish daily and to be on-line beginning next year. Currently the Guam Variety publishes Monday to Friday and is located at the Harmon Industrial Park.
Steffy will be assisting Younis in the operation of the newspaper.
"Challenge is a big motivator of mine, and there can be no bigger challenge than to provide the people of Guam with a newspaper that will deliver
in-depth stories and quality reporting," said Steffy. "Competition sharpens all and my goal is to level the playing field," she said. |
