There are 22 pictures in this Gallery. Scroll down to read the captions. The photos were taken at the Jijan Dong Meng Memorial & Execution Grounds in Nanjing City. The memorial was built to observe the slaughter of the people of Nanjing by invading Japanese Imperial Forces in December 13, 1937- January 1938. I hired Tour Guide Laura Wong seen in some of the photos to guide me through the Memorial and it's history. Laura is a certified tour agent by the Chinese Government. October 25, 2003: Laura is pointing at the sculpture at the entrance of the Jiang Dong Meng Memorial in Nanjing City. The three pillars represent the number 300,000 for those slaughtered and the five circles at the top and the beam under the circles represent Chinese character for people.
