Kevan Gosper, (Aus) ONOC's four-term President was reelected to another four-year-term. Also retaining his seat as secretary general was Dr. Robin Mitchell (FIJ).

The General Assembly supported Guam in a big way this election as Ricardo Blas was successful in regaining the position of vice president after losing to Sir John Dawanincura (PNG) four years ago. Dawanincura lost his bid for ONOC's president to Gosper this year. In the 2001 election Guam held on to a position on the Executive Committee when Blas was elected a member.

Mitchell and Blas ran unopposed in this year's election.

IOC Members Phil Coles (AUS), John Coates (AUS) and Tay Wilson (NZL) remain as Executive Committee members.

A dinner reception was scheduled later that evening hosted by Australia's Olympic Committee President, John Coates.

The delegation stayed at the Stamford Plaza Hotel in Brisbane since Monday. President Jacques Rogge addressed the General Assemble and presented Olympic pins at the welcoming function held at the Speaker's Green, Parliament House.
